This summer’s virtual book tour began with my conversation with Ellen Kushner hosted by Book Passage on June 10, 2021. Watch below.

“So, What Took So Long?”
It’s a question that I’ve gotten a lot lately, and for good reason, given the eight years between the publication of The Golem and the Jinni and The Hidden Palace. (This, in an industry where many authors are expected to average a book a year!) As part of Fantasy Book Cafe’s “Women in SF&F Month” series, I wrote about the years between the books, and the unexpected dilemmas that came with writing a sequel. Bonus points if you’re familiar with the Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods!
